2-Day Roller Derby Training Camp
July 9-10, 2016
Hosted by the San Diego Derby Dolls, in partnership with SoCal Derby, “Red, White, and Bruised” is an inclusive crash course designed to bring your roller derby game to the next level. The fact that it takes place in sunny San Diego? That’s just a bonus!
Can you think of a better way to celebrate independence than by freeing the better player inside??!! The Dollhouse will become your home for training on July 9th and 10th, 2016. This coed camp, open to all adult skaters (ages 18+), will cater to all levels of play. Whether you’re gearing up for your RollerCon challenge bouts, a new skater trying to make your first home team, or an all-star player looking to refresh, you’ll leave San Diego ready to roll!
Featured Classes Include:
Flat Track: Up your flat track game with skate skills, and game strategy, taught by experienced coaches. Are you getting ready for some RollerCon challenges? Meet your team here first and get your game ready!
Banked Track: Never been on a banked track? Are you curious? Learn the basics of balance and control on a new surface while our coaches introduce you to something new.
Referee/NSO Training: Learn the skills that will help you master all areas of officiating. On-skates classes and classroom seminars, run by expert officials, will offer a comprehensive guide to the world of officiating.
Ramp Skating: Take your skating skills up several more notches on our ramp! Small classes guarantee personal attention while you learn the basics of ramp skating, and pick up some tricks to take back to the skate park.
Seminars: Our classroom offerings will teach you ways to build your own leadership skills, inspire confidence, practice effectively, and so much more. Veteran players, coaches, and captains will offer seminars that will help you view the game your team plays in a new light and show you how to improve.
Workshops: Derby is hard on your body, take care of it! Off skates workouts and fitness classes will show you how to be a more well rounded athlete. Off skates fitness is the key to your derby endurance, injury recovery, and breaking through your next plateau. Learn how to work with your body (not fight against it) to achieve results!
